Newest Update: Celemics-MGI Application Note Release

  • Post category:Blogs

Currently, there are various types of Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) instruments available in the market. Some of the well-known NGS platforms include Illumina HiSeq and NovaSeq series, Thermo Fisher Ion Torrent, Pacific Biosciences SMRT sequencing, and Oxford Nanopore Technologies nanopore sequencing devices. Each sequencing platform is characterized by its unique chemistry to analyze DNA sequences. They require different DNA fragment sizes and adapter sequences to control the DNA libraries effectively.
As a result, when designing a target capture kit, it becomes essential to tailor and optimize the kit components, oligos and reagent composition to best fit the specific requirements of each sequencing platform. Celemics not only offers wide portfolio of target capture panels but also optimizes all the reagents required for capture experiments, providing all-in-one kits optimized for each sequencing platform.

Image_CELEMICS_Business Area Introduction

Recently, we have collaborated with MGI to develop platform-optimized kits tailored for MGI DNBSEQ platform and successfully validated their performance.
Celemics’ OncoRisk panel and Whole Exome Sequencing (WES) panel were sequenced on MGI’s DNBSEQ-G4000RS as well as on Illumina NextSeq 500 instruments for performance test and comparison. The results showed comparable metrics for on-target ratio, coverage, uniformity, and variant detection competence for both panels. This confirms that Celemics’ target enrichment kits are operable not only on Illumina instruments but also highly compatible with MGI platforms.

Coverage Plots for WES Samples on MGI Platform_CELEMICS

Figure 1. Coverage Plots for WES samples on MGI Platform. Replicate libraries yielded similar coverage profiles, with a sharp peak indicating coverage uniformity. The mean coverage for each samples was ~100X with a high proportion of bases covered >30X.
