Celemics Long-Read NGS Library Preparation & Target Enrichment Technology

Since the introduction of the first Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) instrument, numerous sequencing platforms with a variety of technologies have been developed. Along with their unique platforms, many NGS instrument companies such as Illumina, MGI, Thermo Fisher, PacBio, Oxford Nanopore, Singular Genomics, and Element Biosciences, have introduced a variety of sequencing technologies. These platforms can generally be categorized into two types: Short-read NGS and Long-read NGS.

Celemics offers Library preparation(LP) kits and Target Enrichment (TE) kits tailored to various NGS platforms to meet diverse customer needs. We currently support most Short-read NGS platforms (Illumina, MGI, Thermo Fisher, and Singular Genomics) with our LP and TE kits. However, as the customer demands and queries for long-read sequencing are increasing, we recognize the need to expand our product portfolio for Long-read NGS users.

Through on-going collaborations with our partners and customers, Celemics has developed LP and TE technologies designed for Long-read platforms. This post is dedicated to introduce our Long-read sequencing technologies.

Long-read NGS Library Preparation Result

The difference between Long-read Library Prep and Short-read Library prep is Nick Repair step after DNA fragmentation step as well as the extra Size Selection step after Pre-PCR step. If Nick Repair and Size Selection steps are skipped, unwanted small DNA fragments may remain. However, by performing both steps, users can obtain the desired larger DNA fragments, which is suitable for Long-read sequencing.

Long-read NGS Target Enrichment Result

The TE kit for Long-read sequencing follows the same experimental procedure as the short-read TE kit. The existing users can easily perform target enrichment for Long-read sequencings without any changes or modifications in protocols.

Celemics keeps expanding our product portfolio to be suitable for both Short-read and Long-read sequencing platforms.
