The Dawn of Accurate Multiplexing: Launching Unique Dual Index (UDI) for MGI Platform

Multiplexing is a widely adopted strategy in NGS experiments to enhance efficiency while reducing costs. However, this approach carries the risk of issues like index hopping, which can compromise data reliability. As the accuracy and efficiency of multiplexed sequencing become increasingly critical, Celemics has developed a novel Unique Dual Index (UDI) specifically optimized for the MGI DNBSEQ™ sequencer, ensuring robust and consistent performance across various sequencing platforms.

In this post, we introduce the key features and advantages of Celemics’ Unique Dual Index (UDI) for MGI, along with supporting data from practical applications.

Key Benefits of Celemics Unique Dual Index (UDI) for MGI

1. Improved Reliability through Prevention of Sample Cross-Contamination

When sequencing multiple samples simultaneously, precise indexing is essential for accurately distinguishing between them. Celemics’ Unique Dual Index (UDI) for MGI is specifically designed to minimize index hopping, thereby ensuring high data accuracy and reliability—especially crucial for sensitive applications such as clinical samples and low-frequency mutation detection.

2. Exceptional Sequencing Quality

Libraries prepared using Celemics’ Library Prep Kit and Target Enrichment Kit showed excellent target detection performance on the MGI DNBSEQ-G400 sequencer.

[Example: Target Detection Performance Using Celemics Panels]

* This study utilized libraries prepared with the Celemics Library Preparation Kit for MGI and Unique Dual Index (UDI), starting with 100 ng of HAPMAP sample. For Target Enrichment, 500 ng of library was used per sample, followed by DNB formation and sequencing on the MGI DNBSEQ-G400. Sequencing data were analyzed under consistent conditions throughout the experiment.

3. Flexible Compatibility with a Wide Range of Panels

Celemics’ Unique Dual Index (UDI) for MGI is compatible not only with a wide range of existing Target Enrichment panels but also with custom-designed panels tailored to specific research needs.
Whether you’re adding select genes or developing panels from the ground up, you can confidently expect high-quality, consistent results.
